SATURDAY, OCTOBER 21 AT 7 PM

STAR GAZING PARTY – LANDS END, BAILEY ISLAND

The Orr’s Island Library is hosting our third Star Gazing Party on Saturday, October 21, at 7 PM at Land’s End on Bailey Island (2391 Harpswell Island Road).
Bob Page and Ron Thompson from the Southern Maine Astronomers will bring their expertise and infectious enthusiasm on all matters of astronomy to participants. Star gazing will be aided by the use of two telescopes belonging to the Orr’s Island Library.
Helpful items to bring…
Chair, flashlight (red light if you have one), binoculars, telescopes, and a star chart.
Star charts may be picked up ahead of time at the Orr’s Island Library or downloaded from http://www.skymaps.com/downloads.html.
Dress for the weather and join us as we enjoy the October sky.
Please no pets.
Children under 10 need adult supervision.

FIRST THURSDAY PROGRAM – DR. MANDIE WEHR

“Coastal Humane Society”

CHS Veterinarian and Dirctor of Shelter Operations, Dr. Mandie Wehr will speak.  Dr. Wehr has many stories to tell.

THURSDAY, DECEMBER 7 AT 7 PM
FIRST THURSDAY PROGRAM – MELINDA RICHTER

“Let’s Talk and Taste Chocolate”

Melinda will review the origins of her candy company, The Island Candy Company.  Her family inspiration and legacy led her to bring an island tradition back for a new generation.  She will treat us to holiday sample.  Yum.
